Taj Mahal is the most popular monument in Delhi. This white building is made from marble and precious stones reflect to Mughal architecture. Taj Mahal was built by Caesar Mughal Shah Jahan.
Red Fort Monument or Lal Qila
Another historical monument is Red Fort Monument. Te monument is located in Netajhi Shubash Marg, Chadni Chowk, New Delhi. The name Red Fort Monument or Red Monument as the main composition of the monument is red bricks. The area of the monument is about 2.4 kilometers. It shows the magnificent of Shah Jahan, the founder.
The monument has another name which is Lal Qila. It was designed by young architect Ustad Hamid and Ustad Ahmad. It was started in 1639 and perfectly done 9 years after, in 1648. The Red Fort is a symbol for India till date.
There are 3 main entrances. However, the only main gate used is “Lahore Gate” as an official entrance.
In Lahore Gate there is “Naubat Khana” or a musical room and its gallery. The area has 4 storey and all about the King’s hobby in music. Exactly in front of Lahore Gate there is an access to Mina Bazaar or also known as Chatta Chowk. Inside the monument there is a mosque called Moti Mosque or Pearl Mosque.
Previously, India was under British, France, Portugal, Netherland and Denmark colonialisms for years. During the colonial era, British built many beautiful buildings and some government buildings in each area in India, especially in Delhi. The buildings use Gothic Imperial style and Victoria. The excellent architecture and beautiful symmetric from some monuments still amaze many visitors till today.
